Parenting is an uphill battle, and no one should have to go it alone. 

Everyone knows that being a parent isn't easy. It's a 24-7 job, and you don't get a break from it, even when you want one. Your kids will always be your kids, and they will always have needs. And when you're responsible for them, you're responsible for them. End of. This is why some parents experience burnout. Just like burnout from a job or a creative pursuit, you can get burnt out on parenting. This is why it's important to take care of yourself first, as much as you can. This means taking breaks when you can get them, maintaining your own hobbies and social life, and leaning on the people in your life to help you pick up the slack. 

These are all way easier said than done, especially the latter. If you're in a partnership, you're probably used to sharing the load. But parenting is difficult to share 50/50. One (or both) of you probably has to work, so that might complicate things.
